Who can Join?

• The Challenge is open to established or aspiring designers ​currently based in any of the 6 Provinces of the Cordillera and the ​City of Baguio
• Participants may be individuals or design teams/institutions ​(with an assigned representative for the competition)
  
• Participants must be at least 18 years old
  

How to Join?

• Pre-register with your preferred categories before June 9, 2024;
  
• Submit final application requirements July 15, 2024;
• Wait for the email confirming that the documents were received ​and complete
  
• Proceed with the following (in any order):
• Select a binnadang partner (you can choose from the list or ​search for any duly registered ka-binnadang);
  
• Sketch and finalize designs
  
• Proceed with the execution of design/production of actual ​product entries with your binnadang partner;
  
• Submit entries on or before August 30, 2024

The Challenge

• The key principle shall be binnadang. For this purpose, ​applicants are designers and ideators who must search for a ​“ka-binnadang” (a local weaver/MSME with registered ​business) in the execution of their designs to actual products.

• The main output is design and creation of products within the ​specified Categories.
  

• Entries must feature woven fabric and may also include other ​materials easily sourced out within the weaver’s/MSME’s ​community.

• Entries maybe in the form of individual pieces or a capsule ​collection.

• Woven fabrics may use traditional patterns (take note of cultural ​appropriateness), patterns created by partner weavers/MSMEs ​or new patterns designed for the competition. Impact of the ​woven fabric to the overall product entry will be rated by judges.

• Entries must include a written product story (not more than ​1,000 words) or video recording (not more than 5minutes) ​narrating story/details about the entry.

• Product details should include product name, name of designer ​and partner weaver/MSME, design inspiration/concept, how you ​made it and relevant photos (sketch, execution/actual creation ​of entries, final output).

• Participants may submit more than one entry. This will require ​multiple submission of application.
